MEDICARE ADVANTAGE PLANS
Medicare Advantage Plans, also known as Medicare Part C, are an alternative way to receive your Medicare benefits. Offered by private insurance companies approved by Medicare, these plans combine the coverage of Original Medicare (Part A and Part B) and often include additional benefits not offered by Original Medicare.
Medicare Advantage Plans cover all the services provided by Original Medicare and may also include extra benefits such as prescription drug coverage (Medicare Part D), dental, vision, hearing, and fitness programs. Some plans may even offer transportation services and wellness programs to promote healthier living.
There are different types of Medicare Advantage Plans, including Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs), Preferred Provider Organizations (PPOs), and Special Needs Plans (SNPs). Each plan type has its own rules and restrictions for accessing healthcare services.
AM I ELIGIBLE?
To be eligible for a Medicare Advantage Plan, you must be enrolled in both Medicare Part A and Part B and live in the plan's service area. Most plans also require beneficiaries to continue paying their Medicare Part B premium in addition to any premium charged by the Medicare Advantage Plan.
Medicare Advantage Plans can be a great option for individuals who want all-in-one coverage and additional benefits beyond what Original Medicare offers. However, it's important to carefully review and compare the different plan options to ensure the plan you choose aligns with your healthcare needs and budget.
